Fiona Bevan
Fiona Bevan’s sweet, fiery warblings have been compared to Erykah Badu, Joni Mitchell and Marc Bolan. Her oddball pop songs are inflected with folk, and her award-winning lyrics pry into the dark, obsessive corners of love, with a cast of stumbling party-girls, fickle sailors, bored bubble-gum shop-girls, and forlorn lovers sleeping out in trees. Fiona has been shimmering her blonde afro round the London gig circuit as well as playing in Zurich, Berlin, Glastonbury and Secret Garden Party festivals, and on Channel 4. She self-released her debut album on iTunes last autumn, and will appear in a forthcoming British film starring Om Puri.

And so another Meadows Festival ends… with soar backs, killer headaches and amazing memories of dancing in the sun (on Saturday) and in the rain (on Sunday).

The Forest would like to thank all of the amazing volunteers who have helped out this weekend setting up, sound engineering, loading vans, selling beer, dancing in the sun, then dancing in the rain and keeping the Forest volunteer spirits up! We’d be lost without your ideas, strong arms and childish laughter!

We, of course, wouldn’t want to forget our amazing bands and artists: The Forest Choir, The House of La, Lipsync for a Lullaby, The Set Up, Earl Grey and The Loose Leaves, the Jiggery Fuckery DJs, Hailey Beavis and their currently nameless band, Billy Liar, ‘Chief Redbeard, Boorbolito and the White Lightning Dog’ (these guys are actually only one band. an amazing one too!), Super Adventure Club and DJs Popscure and Le Vangelis, Pjamb (Alex and Jen and the Gents) and Mayhew. You’ve made people dance in the rain, get carried away dreaming in the hot summer sun, laugh and enjoy themselves just like they should on such a lovely summer weekend. Thank you all for being Forest with us!

We’ll see you all next year, same place - The Meadows, same time - first weekend of June!

The launch of The Lab Project on Sunday, May 30th at the Forest Cafe was a total success. As it was set-up to provide an online platform for artists and producers in a range of medium, Spreading from visual design right through to music production, the performance they have put up in order to celebrate the beginnings of this initiative was wonderfully orchestrated to take place in the friendly environment of the Forest Cafe.

Watch out for them, they might be around again…
